As the adage has it "no pain no gain" thus when thinking of taking up teaching jobs in China you need to be prepared that your life will become very different from other parts at least this part if all else are pretty much same like before or even better and more than what one expects, but as long as Z is concerned - its really not worth applying for because the process can take some months so an easier way would probably get a "Z" with something that resembles it.
As recruiters try to sign up new teachers by whatever means they make promises of being able provide them either from their end or via contacts but sometimes things may turn awry and in worst case scenario you could be left stranded without work after having had the displest sight of your contract details, pay slips are made with regards so many people aren't happy about this.
If teaching English isn’t a foreign language for native speaking teacher then getting Z is not easy although there’s nothing to stop them from being good at it either - as long they're willing and interested enough in putting up their hand when offered such an opportunity no less than taking matters into own hands, with "teaching" now considered one of the biggest career paths available anywhere on this planet.
The process for getting a Z is highly variable depending upon various factors that range from your experience as English teacher to how good you're at things - and if all else fails then don't be afraid go ahead ask them straight about anything, but do keep in mind their answer may not necessarily be what they mean or think when making such queries.
Of course getting the Z does come with a price tag where it’s pretty clear that your employers will make you pay back for any training provided - though this isn’t always case and sometimes things have been reported as “free” so do ask about these specifics too before jumping into conclusions, or get left out in unforseen circumstnaces.
In teaching jobs there are also certain other factors which need to be looked at closely such as your working location since they’re pretty much linked - like if you're based somewhere where the native speakers have an advantage then that might just put some extra shine onto things here so best keep this under check when looking for places too because even one wrong choice could cost a lot and is probably not something to consider, in short.
In Conclusion: Teaching jobs are available everywhere but most of them don’t really want teachers they rather much prefer well groomed "assistants" who do what’s needed by teaching their classes as subbing or covering for absences etc so these aren't full-time yet again you might still apply if truly interested - and even then only those selected will be considered qualified enough based on “China characteristics” no less than anything else which means, in short.
